From the Floor to the Front Door: Why I Call This "The Doormat"

We’ve all seen one. We might even have one at our front door right now. A doormat’s entire purpose is to be stepped on. It’s there to wipe the mud off someone else's shoes so they can walk into a room clean, leaving the mess behind on the mat.
